PiggyBac transposon system for cell line production

The attributes of piggyBac(PB), such as high transduction efficiency, large cargo capacity, and stable and inducible transgene expression make it the perfect technology for custom cell line production. In published data, PB has introduced and simultaneously expressed four transgenes in a single cell. PB has produced fully functional transgenic cell lines from complex multi-subunit proteins such as human voltage gated ion channels. In addition, PB-mediated multiplexed gene integration into the DNA allows for the creation of novel cell assays for multi-protein drug targets such as G-Coupled Protein Receptors (GPCRs). The PB system efficiently produces genetically modified cell lines in many important cell culture lines such as HeLa and CHO cells.
