Transposagen Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. is a privately held biotechnology company, based in Lexington, KY, that is dedicated to providing unique animal models and other research tool technologies to improve drug discovery and development research. The Company is the worldwide leader in Genetically Modified Rat Models offering ~95% of the world's existing knockout rat inventory.

Why Rats?

Using a variety of mobile DNA technologies (including piggyBac) and stem cell technologies, Transposagen will continue to expand its product line by producing high-value research models. Available models include TKO™ Knockout Rat Models with a single gene trap insertion created using mobile DNA technology, and TGEM™ Rat Models with a genetic mutation not created by a gene trap insertion. Models under development are Transgenic TGEM™ Rat Models with added genetic material, and more refined genetic manipulations such as conditional mutations and knock-ins.
