The World’s Fastest Synthetic Gene Synthesis Service is Now Available in the World’s Most Efficient Non-viral Genetic Modification System 

Lexington, Kentucky December 14, 2011- Transposagen Biopharmaceuticals Inc. (Transposagen) announced today that it has entered into a non-exclusive licensing agreement with gene synthesis company DNA2.0. The highly efficient DNA-2-GO™ gene synthesis process can now be used to generate genes which are immediately usable in piggyBac™ expression vectors.  PiggyBacTM is the cheapest and most efficient method for gene transduction in mammalian cells.  Other advantages of using the piggyBac™ DNA Modification System include reversible genetic modification, unlimited insertion size, copy number control and rapid insertion site characterization.  Applications of this system range from stem cell research to protein production and cell line engineering.  “DNA2.0’s expertise in DNA synthesis combined with the utility of the piggyBac™ DNA Modification System will open up many possibilities in biomedical research, as well as industrial protein production”, said Eric Ostertag, President and CEO of Transposagen.
